Our group investigates the physiological and molecular mechanisms of toxicity of common pollutants such as trace metals, nanoparticles, microplastics and pharmaceuticals in aquatic organisms. We focus on understanding how cellular and molecular effects of pollutants change the whole-organism performance, survival and ecological functions, and investigate the potential use of molecular and bioenergetic markers for environmental health assessment of marine populations.
